Where can I find the medal rings to put in bushel basket to fill bushel?  Any ideal of cost?  Thanks

Not sure what metal rings you are talking about. I have seen people cut the top quarter of one of these barrels and invert it into the basket. Crabs fall in like using a funnel but can't climb out.

I thought he was looking for something to funnel the crabs into the basket. Maybe he was just looking for a lid. We will have to see which he was after.  Glad you posted this anyway because I need to get one for my plastic basket (orange fish basket).

Wouldn't it be better to use crabs rather than metal rings?    (Yes-I'm an OLD Dad)
I love to fish, but I live to crab.

That's pretty neat, I have never seen them before.  I wonder how that metal holds up under regular use in salt water environments. Could be why some use the plastic barrel tops.

I use the plastic trash can lids with 1" holes drilled in them.

Who the  h ell knows what he wants. We have now offered him three completely different items, if none of these are it, then I don't care.

I found some rings.  They are rings that you put in the top of basket so that you can top off the bushel without the crabs climbing out.  When bushel is full you remove the ring and put top on.

That is what I thought you were looking for, something to keep them in while filling the basket.  Glad you found what you wanted.

Big Liar

Of course now that you got one, everyone will be changing to lugs.  Sort of like albums, to cassettes, to CD's.   Laughing with you, I have 3 of the lids and now baskets may be hard to come by this year.
Just one of the few bad apples that keeps wizzing in the MSSA's and TF's milk.  Not because I have violations (because I don't'), but because I'm catching the resources that they claim to own and have more rights to.

Got the metal one from Eddie Heath's. The black is a plastic flower pot. I like the orange one the best. I'd like to find some fiberglass funnels that fit better.
Or I might switch to 1 plastic bushel crates like others.

The plastic barrel top like I showed would give you a funnel effect as you put crabs in it

Just use the plastic orange baskets instead of the wooden ones, then you won't need to lug around all that extra  b u ll s hit  gear to way over-jam your wooden ones, since an over-jammed wooden basket apparently holds the same amount of crabs as the orange ones do anyway.
