Here's a tip for crabbing Mattamuskeet:

Bring one of those metal tube-shaped minnow traps with you. Fill it with menhaden. Drop it in the water on an incoming tide and the water will carry the scent of the menhaden into the lake. The big crabs will follow this scent to your location and you will have a good day!

Thanks Steve, I am going to hook up with Pete Miller down there. I know there is only a dz limit per person. But I figure it will be a nice short trip and me and Pete can get drunk.  Safely though.  And get enough for a good meal. 2 DZ of them big boys should do it.. And maybe I can get lucky and get a 9+ for a new plaque.
