A bloody arrow!!!

...Took my nephews down the shore for an evening hunt on our property. Set my one nephew up in a stand in a white oak thicket adjacent to a cut corn field....and my other nephew about 200yds away in the same thicket in a ground blind. My friend and I went to another field of beans and set up where I've been seeing the deer come out before dark. About 30 miutes before the end of legal shooting time......my buddy Nick, misses a nice 6 pointer....I missed (shooting underneath) a nice wide 6'er........and younger nephew missed a spike and a wide 8.....and my older nephew arrowed a nice little 5 pointer. Thank goodness, one of us knows how to shoot a bow!!!

Anyway, took a few pics of my nephews deer....and a one pic of some small bocks in the field just before the bigger one walked under my stand and I had to put down the camera.
Backstraps are marinating now!!!

It's definately a challenging endeavor! Looks like you guys had a lot of action in your Honey Holes

I've been shooting some, but haven't gathered my gear to get out just yet! SOON

My buddy Nick, is good friends with your cousin......sometime if you guys free up, your welcome to come down and sling some arrows with us. I have around 1000 acres in Princess Anne, mixed hardwoods, thick pines and lucious cutt corn and soybeena fields. All private.

I shot some deer on a farm I hunted years back in Princess Anne. I only hunt sika now if I am goig to take a drive. They are my favorite deer by far. Tell you nephew congradulations on the little buck. BIg, small, buck or doe they are all a trophy!

Hey, It happens to the best of us. At least one is down and the back straps are marinating, like you said. Looks like tremendous property!! Good luck guys. The whole state opens up in Jersey tomorrow. I don't think we had temps so cool for opening day in about 6-7 years. Should be a lot of movement!! I'd like to see that 5'er come out tomorrow morning!!!

Nice.....Atleast everyone saw deer and got a shot....
thats hard to do ......put everyone on a deer the same night......

them misses just makes you get out and practice more ........

It is a far ride, but I don't mind it at all. I drive down there so much, I could do it blindfolded. Would drive down in the spring before turkey season just to hear the birds gobble and than drive home.

It is very nice property, but not soon after the muzle loader the deer go nocturnal....so this is the only time of year you can really pattern these bucks.....and perhaps the only time of year I can get some good pics of them. I'll be back down there sometime this weekend and next week...will try to get some more pics.
