Anyone know of anyplace relatively decent to crab in the Outer Banks?  I am renting a house near Oden's Dock and was curious as to where to go and what to expect.

Pete Miller said they got beat up pretty good down there, alot of docks damaged or gone. :(
Crabbing, enjoying the water, meeting new people, making new friends, that's what it's all about.

I was down there a few years ago and wanted to go crabbing. I talked to locals and found a pretty good location. If you head south, you turn right just before the Wright Brothers Memorial and go a mile or two in. I crabbed off a concrete ledge and got alot of crabs, some were too small and went back. There is also a commercial operation in there that will sell you crabs if you don't catch enough. I used ring and box traps -- it was August but I got crabs on almost every pull, especially in the early morning. Have fun!

That is the bridge to Collington Island.

I believe that there are several bridges that you can crab from in Collington.

Before you start crabbing, stop by Billy's Seafood on Collington Island and ask them how the crabs are running. They are really nice people and should be able to help you out.
