I have not bow hunted for 20 years but would like to take in up again.  I am looking for recommendations on what type/manufacture of bow to purchase.  Looks to be a vast supply to choose from.  I also need recomendations for climbing tree stands.

I shoot a bowtech now......have shot martin, pse, bear, mathews.....single cam and two cam......I prefer two cams, because it seems they have more drive.....but I have killed many deer, wild boar with the above bows...its what ever feels right to you.......as far as tree stands......api is what I use....but their are many other good ones out  :)

Stop in and see Len at Macrotech in Brooklyn off of Ritchie highway.  He will let you shoot a few different brands and fit you with what feels best!

Good luck!

Don't ever buy a bow without shooting it. If they are reluctant to let you shoot go somewhere else. The bows these days are amazing. I prefer hybred cams myself like Darton and Hoyt have. I use a Darton, as well as a sinew backed wood bow I made that I shoot stoneheads out of that I flint knapped myself.
If you are looking for a hunting bow go with a Whisker Bisquit. That is the only product I will mention. All the bows these days are amazing in quality. Buy what you are able to aford, and most importantly feels good in your hand. If you draw back and feel that grip at all get rid of it and try something else.

Wow - technology really has changed.  Jbird - I went to Macrotech and bought a bow from Len.  I went with the Bowtech Tribute can't believe how fast it is.   I am having him set it up and tune it.  Will get it next week.  Know I just have to find some places to hunt.  Thinking about checking out the Patapsco park.  If you have suggestion please let me know.

Thanks
Dave

Nothng wrong with Patapsco if you have the time.  It will be crowded on Saturday mornings and they only alott a certain amount of hunters per day.  Weekdays will be your best bet.  With you living in Ellicott City, I'm sure it will only be a matter of time until you find a land owner with a "deer problem" who will be willing to let you hunt.  Just put your feelers out, and keep your ears open.  Other than that there are quite a few good places to bowhunt public land in MD.  Start at the MD DNR webpage, and go from there.
Glad you found Len.  He is the best in the biz as far as I am concernred.

Good luck,
Jbird

Ditto on Len at Macrotech.  I remember asking him did he sell bait    I shoot a Browning SLX36.  She is smokin hot.  Been shooting Browning Bows for about 10 years.  I use a Trophy Ridge fall away rest and also their 3 pin site.
I hear the sound of one hand clapping....you don't??
