Trip to Matamuskeet

Hi all!  I was at the outerbanks from 9/22-10/8 and had a wonderful time!  I crabbed in the sound 4 days and each day I caught 1-2 dozen crabs all just over the 5" min.  Only thing is 90% were ladies...I got 14 males in 4 trips.  I decided enough of this and drove the 70 miles to Matamuskeet and had a great time!  I caught 7 keepers(which I was only keeping 7+inchers) 5 of which were 7 3/4 - 8 inches and very full of meat.  I was amazed at the size of the crabs there.  I could see them in the water faning in the shallows and some had to of been 9 inches.  The bugs are defintly not a joke there but a good coating of OFF did the trick until I got swarmed by some biting ants on the lock at the lighthouse bulding and got so chewed up I had to leave.  Anyway I highly recommend making the trip there if anyone ever has the chance, the size of the crabs are really something you have to see to believe.  I only caught 1 crab under 5" the whole time and many that were almost 7 but not quite that I threw back.  I will post my pictures this weekend once I can find my cable for my camera.
