My wife and I will be taking a trip to Florida by motor home, we'll going down by Rt. 17, leaving in late Nov. We would like to take in some crabbing on the way. my questions are

How is the crabbing this time of year ?
Can anyone recommend any good places to try that are near a camp ground ?
Will I need a license ?

We'll be using hand lines and will have an inflatable boat and outboard.

Thanks for any help.

U.S. 17 runs through coastal Georgia. I would suggest staying a week or so in  McIntosh County Georgia at River's End Campground. You can handline for crabs at the public docks at Darien. Yes, you will need a fishing license. If you are crabbing at Darien's city docks no one will ask you for a fishing license. Surf the net for McIntosh County or Darien.
