I'm heading to the Outer Banks for vacation and checked out the NC regs on their website.  I had to call their office in Columbia to get clarification on Dare County regs.  I was told that collapsible traps must stay collapsible at all times until they are pulled.  They can't be unatended or exceed 18" on all sides.  I asked about the trap limit and he said there was none.  I'm still a little bit nervous to run 20 traps.
