Had two of my kids and my two nephews out today....Started the day off by looking for the Spanish, after about an hour or so I had an empty cooler so we switched over to Rock and Blues...... Caught more small rock than I cared to count...... Kept 17 decent blue and 4 rock, biggest rock was 25 inches..... Kids had a great time and reeled in all the fish...... Reeled lines up to go in and one line had what I swear to be a snakehead, gonna run it by DNR some time this week....... tried a few drifts with bottom rigs and caught one small flounder.....    Great day.....

Crabbing, enjoying the water, meeting new people, making new friends, that's what it's all about.

Wat to go glad you and the young ones had a great time. it's always a good trip when you catch fish. :D

Sounds like western shore is hot.  Not much happening on this side.  Planning to head out at noon to see what we can get for dinner tonight.

Jack, give Cedar Point a try if it isn't too far from you.... You will pick up plenty of blue for the smoker and there are lots of nice rockfish to be had..... The good eating size.... 18-24"
Keep one line down deep....

The only fishing thats happened around here is off shore. The tuna and dolphin are biting well. And theres a few mako and blues to be taken.

Well it wasnt  in the Chesapeke but it was the best day I ever had Bluefishing in my life. Went out o Belmar NJ on the catherine II for a private charter at 3pm. Ran up to the highlands about 5 mile off the beach. It was absolutely incredible! I figured with the blow the schools would be scattered like in the past and we'd have to run around for them.
I lost count at 15 and that was around 6pm, we stayed until 9pm. there were 21 total on board (210 fish)...we were throwing them back starting around 7pm!!! I know I must of boated at least 25 o them suckers. Boy what a charge, non stop! My one arm felt like cooked spagetti on monday morn.
salt it up,hook it in,throw it out, bring em in

That is a great fighting fish and when cooked fresh it aint bad tasting either.... You must of been into the big blues! that is nice....... We used to get the big blues in the bay but I haven't seem them since I was a kid, just the little 2-4 lb snappers now...... Still a [Sam Hill] of a lot of fun on light tackle.....

YEAH, and thats what I had, my surf rod (the eight footer) .

They were so hot, I would push maybe 5 feet o line out o the reel and lock the bale cause it didnt take even that much for the bait to drift down before they were on it.

Those are the days you live for and hope for again.
