[ will be going camping, fishing & crabbing on Jekyll Island while on my way back to Florida. The end of this month for a couple of days. Can an anyone tell me how the crabbing is and where is the best place to dip them is. How is the fishing now off the pier? Where do I have the best chance around the island to catch a bucket full of both? I will only have 2 full days on the island to do both. Can you catch crabs off the pier?

You will want to begin crabbing from Jekyll Island pier on incoming tide. The water is still warm so I would wade out in the ocean in Jekyll Beach and hand land for crabs. Then you could scoop them up in net. You will not be able to scoop crabs up in a hand held net from the pier. You will need a string crab trap which you can buy on the island. There is a small creek that exits the marsh next to the pier. This would be a good place to hand line for crabs. Hope this helps. Low tides begin on Monday at 7:07 am. Just add 1 hour each day to get the new low tide. Hope this helps.

Thanks coastman for the info it really helps. I will try the end of the creek near the pier.
Two more question I hope you can tell me. How is the fishing on the pier now? What are they catching now?

I would use the fish finder rig with cut bait. Sharks are still around the fishing pier. Whiting and croaker would be caught using the fishfinder rig with cut bait. I don't imagine you will cach trout or reds from the pier.
