fishing reel problem

That reel looks like an old gracia-mitchell, forerunner to the modern abu-gracia. Failing that it may be an old long beach model but I'm guessing its a mitchell-gracia.
I like the cross of st. george shield next to the swords!

Its a Knights Templar sheild. but your close. st. george shield's cross goes all away too top and sides.
nice try though  didnt even know about st. george untill I looked at some pictures.

They're one and the same bf125 the knights templar adopted st. georges cross at the beginning of the first crusade. This happened because so many english noblemen and solders who volunteered to march in the crusades already worn there cross as part of there uniform.

Not as old as I am.     Yeah, it's a good reel, but that one looks pretty much covered with salt water corrosion. If the gears inside are still good and are lubricated, it might still work. That button on the side near the handle is used to release the line.

GREAT CALL SEANILE!!! i never would have guessed a pfleuger. I had one of there levelwind baitcasters when i was a kid. I wish i still had it.

I don't know what happend over the years but the guy left it hear when we moved into the house

Even better I figured out the drag was just on the whole time. It was a big pain loosening it up, but I finally got it. the reel works perfectly
