Dog I hope you mean 155 yards, cause I have killed deer at 155ft with my bow......
If you are shooting 50 yards with a bow at a deer how many did you miss or cripple before you got one?

Knock on wood, I have never lost a deer. I also dont make a habit of shooting 50 yrds, I also do a lot of practice at this range so yeah that helps. People miss cripple and loss deer at 10 yards, so do you have a point?  Yeah didnt think so

yes I meant 155 yards not feet.. thanks for pointing that out.. cause 50 yds vs 155 yds is a world of difference.....

The point was you said you killed a deer with your bow at 155 feet witch is all but 50 yards most ethical bow hunters don't shoot more than about 30 yards tops just wondered how many you wounded up flinging arrows that far. Good luck this year  ;) ;)

Got my son the Remington ML700 and we've been supper happy with it... Really nice trigger, max load at 150gr.. It's an easy gun to take care of and a very accurate gun. when he first started I worked up a 60 gr 777 load with the power belt bullets and it did a great job on the witetails in our area out to 70-80 yards....

Yeah, I have been tinkering with 3 pyrodex pellets = 150 grains over 2 pellets = 100 grains... upped the bullet to a 300 grain sabot... my cousing uses 150 grain powder to 300 fgrain bullet.. ( power belt ) I think.. he says the deer just crumple... I have had no problem with 100 grain 265 grain sabot....
I did notice jumping up to 150 grains make sure you re sight in.. my groups were about 4 inches higher at 100 yds.... Gosh does that mean Gene was right.. Oh Jeez.... never going to hear the end of it now....

i shoot a thompson omega, very easy to clean and remove the breech plug.... mine  is 45 caliber shooting 195 grain power belts with 150 grains of triple 7 powder.i havent had a deer run off after being shot and have killed 7 deer,1 black bear and 2 elk(1)bull (1) cow. it is a tack driver out to 225 yds. just remember when purchasing one its not the caliber its all about shot placement.

Wow another amercican made gun / company going under.  Ilike the accessroies they sell.  There prelubed celaning patches and tools etc for black powder are top notch and priced well.  That is too bad.  I geuss I better stock up on their stuff then soon.
