Very slow.  Crabbed the IR Friday through Sunday w/two pots at the dock and one up river by the power plant.  Total of 13 keepers w/4 throwbacks in the three pots all baited w/bunker.  [Sam Hill] of a ratio.   Handlined in my favorite creek mouth and got two. :snore:
Was not suprised at the slowness due to the nor'easter that passed earlier in the week and the 100 million trap and pot floats in the river.    I saw a seagull hop from one side of the river to the other on the floats. ;)

Hope you all did a lot better.

Went out Saturday in the Indian River Bay with 15 traps at the top of the tide. 30 keepers in 2 1/2 hours. Went out Sunday evening with 500' trotline at the bottom of the tide and got 33 keepers. Still slow. Last couple years I would have around 3/4 to a bushel this time of the year. Still very tasty! Not going this weekend. Don't fight the race traffic. Be out the following weekend. Crabs should start to run better.

hey guys.  i just started reading here and decided to post.  the fishing was terrible this weekend from the C&D to OC....  if it means anything.  is the crabbing really that obnoxious in the IR bay?  i was planning on hitting some handlines and a couple of pots this summer, but it sounds like maybe it is a fiasco out there.  later dudes, dh

tight lines! (or whatever you crabbing guys say)  he he
here's a photo of my rig if you see me out there....

Jeff Sr, Tasty they are.  See you out there.

jojito,  It is bad on the holiday weekends.   4th of July, Labor Day and last weekend.  All in all the IR Bay and Rehoboth Bay are fine.  Good luck.
