If you fish in Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey or Delaware you will need to register in THOSE states.

Virginia.......

February 1, 2011:  Online registration for the new Fisherman Identification Program is now open.  Toll-free, call-in registration is also available. Saltwater anglers who do not need to buy a license under state law must register for free and supply their contact information before they fish every year.  Anglers who buy a saltwater fishing license will be automatically registered.  Anglers may register online here.  The intent is to create a Virginia-wide "phone book" of saltwater anglers, which will be given to the National Marine Fisheries Service in order to improve fishing effort surveys and to exempt Virginia anglers from having to sign up directly with the National Saltwater Angler Registry and pay the annual $15 federal registration fee.

Thanks for posting links - I was looking everywhere to print one for tomorrow and couldn't find it through Google.  Should have known to come here first.

True but neither VA or MD recognizes the other states FIP.  If you have a VA boat sticker and fish in MD you need a MD FIPR. If you have a MD bay license and fish in VA you need a VA FIPR.

True.. visitors to my boats don't need a license to fish but they need to register in both VA and MD cause we fish both waters.  It's a pain in the rear. The Fed registration isn't good in either state....

Don't forget to get a FIP# or renew the one you have.  I was told that the VMRC and MDNR will be issuing tickets for not having a FIP# this year.

Thanks for the reminder Jack. Me and my wife purchased our MD fishing License months ago but forgot to register with VA. Going fishing in VA in a few weeks.
