Texas regs say the floats have  "Must be marked with a white floating buoy not less than 6 inches in height, 6 inches in length and 6 inches in width, bearing a 2-inch wide center stripe of contrasting color, attached to the crab trap". I cant seem to find floats that match this. The traps, commercial types, I found down at walmart in Port Lavaca, but noone seems to be able to tell me where to get the floats from. Any ideas?

Get a regular white styrofoam float and paint your favorite color ring.  That should work.

3 hours to corpus or port lavaca each way so we dont get down there but about once every month and a half and most people arent real talkative and wont tell you much about where to get things, real quick to tell you where to go though......

They sell them at Academy in the Houston Galveston area.  You may try your area store to see if they have them.

That has them for pretty cheap. But Soons we can we are heading down to Corpus and see if the Academy has them there. It will be a couple weeks, have to move the daughter back to college at San Angelo State this weekend.
