Just went out to James Island County Park on Sat. 4/21 at noon. The tide was running out the tidal creek where the pier is down to the Stono river and boy was it strong. Each time i put a trap down the tide would pull it right down stream, LOL, it was a tug of war with nature.  So i tried placing them closer to shore in shallower water but i guess with the strong flow the scent/oils/attractiveness of my or just about ANY bait was pulled down stream also. The scattered sprinkles and overcast made it a not so ideal day to relax but we gave it a good shot and came up empty. Next time out i'll watch the tide charts and get there appox one hour before mean high or low tide so i can hit them as flow calms for the turn around and we'll see how it turns out.  Hope the next post is fruitful. Happy crabbing guys & gals.
