Youth deer hunt Sat 11/10

 Took my 16 year old son on his first deer hunt Saturday for junior hunters deer season.  Scouted a piece of property in Hickory and saw plenty of sign , and a nice buck on Friday afternoon. Got into the woods about 6:00am and got set up. About 7:30 this small buck comes from the cornfield to within 40 yards of where we were sitting. My boy really put the wood to 'em. One shot with a 12 ga and copper solids and he only went about 75 yards. His first deer hunt , and 90 minutes later his first deer. He's gotta be thinking" There ain't nothing to this deer hunting stuff!!!" He says he got lucky, but I think it's because he had a good guide

It is great to share in the excitement of a first deer. My son had a great day as well. I will post pics later.
