I agree about the old divers eating wild grass and celery and tasted good.  now they eat fishe etc and taste like [curd]... a lot of things have change since back in the day... turn of the centruy and the market gunning.. must have been a site to see.

I'm really sad to see this much rain all at once, the Susquehanna flats had one [Sam Hill] of a grass and celery growth going this year.  Now with conowingo dam running full bore, I'd bet most of it's being stripped away as we speak.  :(

Best bet would be to hook up with one of those easternshore boys  ;)

After reading this, I wondered about the ducks I've shot? Don't hunt as much as I used to now([dang] golf) but still do. Remember, I lived in Katy, Texas, the rice capitol of Tx ;D, AND guided waterfowl hunters ;D I'm comp iliterate basically, so it will be a running count. I've got: teal,blue-green and cinnamon.florida duck, mallards, pintails, ruddys, coot(dont ask) broadbill, com goldeneye, ringneck, buffleheads, fulvous tree duck, mexican squeeler?, spoonie, widgeon, redhead, woodies, and probably more, but these were in Tx. Here, brant, black, gadwall, com merg and hooded are about the only other. NC for swans. Maine for oldsquaws, both scooters and eiders. Combination on geese: Canadas, richardsons, lessers and greaters. Snows, blues and specks and ross. Sandhill cranes in Tx. My trophy is a mallard/widgeon cross. Only duck I REALLY wanted to shoot, and get mounted (have most of the above on wall) was a Canvasback! Never got a drake, and probably never will ;)Sure there is more, but my mind is going ;D Don't get me started on big game, OR the costs? RD, FWIW, I've hunted Mont around Txgiving, and the WARMEST it got 1 yr was 14degrees! This was one long COLD week. Mostly 10-20 below. At Missoula airport on departure day it was -28 with a - 54 wind chill. I was from Tx at the time, and said I'd NEVER go back. Well, next yr there I was;D
I'm niether proud nor embarrassed, I'm a man....Sometimes I sh!t my pants.....It's part of the deal.
