here in Stuart,FL. between the st.luice and the indian ,we have 2 rivers with what i would guess is about 4,000 acres that i have seen comm. crab pots set in.. went looki'n by car yesterday and after 3 stops , i never saw a bouy.....at the last stop i saw 400 pots in a area that was about 100 ac.  this has happened before and shows that crabs (down here) consecrate and if you crabbed 1/2 a mile away you would be pulli'n your cork....the comms.(some from 70 miles away) said that is the only ''hot spot'' and the crabs(sooks) are not of great quality....

    MERRY CHRISTMAS

Edaoud

Merry Christmas to you too

Do you have to remind us here in the north that there are some people still crabbing?  :) :)

SHELLFISH

That's interesting! The water has cooled by me too and the crabs are retreating.
I have to go looking to see where they hole up for the cooler water event.
Retired in paradise!

Whistlingwings

They catching pretty good out in the bays and gulf. I know of a guy that brought in 14 crates of big males last week. I wish I had a big boat.  :-[
