NY Marine Registry License

 For anyone who besides crabbing also fishes in NY coastal waters and up to 3 miles out a marine registry license for those 16 and older must be in your possession. Good thing it is free. Apply online and they will mail you the license. See link

This  NJ registration is required for all 16 or older who fish( crabbing not included) in tidal waters.It is not a saltwater license. I have been checked for it while striper fishing. Just a heads up. It is free. Happy Holidays.

I've been checked three times since they started this, surf fishing and at Shark River Inlet while fluke fishing. I read on other sites that some refuse to register based on "the "gobermints inability to properly manage the fisheries and besides, "who is dem to know what I caught?". I've heard the fines can run $300.00.  Pay that once and you could care less who knew who caught what, if anything.
