Never gone turkey hunting but have a friend that loves to turkey hunt. Im sure he will be out opening day os the regular season if he does not take one of his kids.
Crabbing, Fishing and Hunting = Me happy!

sorry; just came across this post.... took my 12 year old daughter out and had toms gobbling all around us before sunrise..... at sun rise had two hens in front of us at about 10 yards..... hems went in woods to one of the toms and never saw him.... had two big toms in full strut with four Jake play around for about an hour but never came in close enough..... she enjoyed it and loved hearing the gobbles.
I enjoyed the time with her; it was alot of fun watching her reactions to the sounds and sights.

I saw a flock fo 10 turkeyy last Firday morning coming back out of the stream from trout fishing.  They were within 10 ft of the road.  Pretty Cool.. then this morning going to work I had a Jenny run across the road like her tail was on fire.......  didn't see any other birds.... but very cool to see wild turkeys up so close ....
