Clarification on name and address on traps

Hey ya'll. I just dropped by the introductions page to say hello and now I'm already wanting to pick your brains. I'm in Florida and was wondering if someone could help me understand how we are to affix name and address on recreational traps. What do people use? Is it as simple as writing on the buoy? On the FWC site they show the name and address being on the trap itself. http://myfwc.com/fishing/saltwater/recreational/blue-crab/
I don't have traps yet would also like some info on where to get traps without having to take out a loan If anyone could help me there I would sure appreciate it. My plan is to drop a few traps when I take the kayak out fishing and letting them soak for a day or two.

Never mind. I found the answers to my question after some deep searching the FWC help section. I never would have thought of dog tags from a pet store or engraving machines at the hardware store. Guess I was over thinking it trying to make sure I was legal.

Walmart has traps for sale for about $40.00. I think that's high!
WA Davidson of Jacksonville also has traps I think about $20.00. Google the name and you will get to their site.

I have 2 types of traps that I use here in Bluffton & Hilton Head, SC.    One is the pyramid style trap that lays flat on the sea bed and when you retrieve it with a rope the 4 sides come up and form a pyramid that traps the crab.   These are the kinda traps that I take fishing with me.   They are not meant to be abandoned overnight, thus no need for tagging or ID.   These traps can be had at Walmart for about $8 each but take my advice, as soon as you buy them remove all of the cotton string which will deteriorate quickly.   Replace each cotton string with a 40-50lb mono-filament line. I use double barrel crimps and a crimp tool to fasten the monofilament.    It will be a lot more durable.   Don't waste your time, not even once with the cotton strings.

They are currently selling the "pot" type traps that are roughly 9" x 16" x 24" that can also be bought at Walmart right now for $30.  No doubt you can probably find used traps cheaper if you check Facebook or Craigslist under sporting goods in your coastal community.    These are the kind of traps you must tag & identify yourself if you abandon them for any length of time.   Me, I use an old AAA Memebership Card, punch a hole in it and write my name, address & phone with a black magic marker & fasten with a cable tie.
