Just moved on the water in norfolk, va.  Want to set up a shedding tank pumping water from the river.  Nothing crazy or to make money just personal use.  Where can i find a shedding table or something similar to use as the tank?  Think maybe 3 or 4 feet wide by maybe 6 or 8 feet long.    I have done saltwater tanks my whole life so I have good knowledge of aeration and keeping critters alive.  Thanks for the help.

I use rubbermaid stock tanks and a cheap sump pump....

Jack thanks for the reply.  I was thinking something like that may work.  Was looking hard last time I was at tractor supply.  May have to give that a go.

Anyone else has any suggestions I would love to hear em.  Thanks.

I think the closest place to Norfolk that may have fiberglass shedders is Eddy Heath in Crisfield. There used to be a couple places in Currituck that made them but don't think they are in business anymore. Once in a while you see them on craigslist.

Before fiberglass shedders, we made them with salt treated 2x12 to frame the sides and 3/4 plywood for the bottom, seal the seams with 5200.

Another thing to consider is how many crabs are you trying to shed, If just a few dozen at a time a much smaller tank will work better because the crabs moving around keep the bottom of the tank clean.
