good questions..... Saturday my son hunted a area and had this 10 pointer come in after a few soft grunts and bleats and circle him down wind and never came in to offer a shot.. He asked me to sit up in a stand downwind of him Sunday in case the deer did the same thing on Sunday. Well Sunday at sunrise my boy hit his grunt call and 15 minutes later I did a light tickle of the rattle horns.... 5 minutes later the 10pt came out of the holly thicket and started working his way down wind of my stand...... He never made it.....  I waited 30 minutes and started on his blood trail when my son texted me asking if I was grunting near him; I told him nope.... ended up he had two bucks come into his area nosing around and he ended up getting one..... All packed up and done before 9am..... Only thing we missed out on was having my daughter in the stand with me that morning due to some shopping she had to take care of and you can bet you paycheck that she's been accusing me of shooting HER deer ever since LOL.... we hunt big woods; rolling hardwoods. Both use 20ga... My son uses a Rem 870 and shoots Rem copper solids which his gun shoots very well and they've proven to do massive damage on the deer he's harvested with them... I shoot an H&R 20ga shooting the last of my Rem buckhammer slugs... I have no idea why Remington discontinued these slug; they are without a doubt total devastation on deer.....

That's a great hunt.  Looks like they didn't run far.  I shot both of my deer in the neck which made tracking very easy.  DRT      Dead Right There.
