unfortunately there is good and bad on both sides.  I am sure there are just as many law abiding jerks as their are criminals with illegal guns.  That is  a shame and it gives legite gun owners a bad name.   I am sorry to hear that story as it only takes one person like that to give a bad impression on folks that all these gun toting people are all jerks like johnny jet ski......I am sure it left a bad impression on you.  It is scary.. cause you don't know if the guy is some kinda wack job....

Didnt really leave a bad impression, but just pissed me off.  I wanted to kick the guys [arse] after seeing that.  From then on out after that incident there was a park ranger there running the show.   

The ramp is a strange place.  Thats usually when im kickin back a few brews and take my time, enjoying the show.  He was probably just upset because he didnt catch any crabs!!!!!!!

Hey CD - I guess you're saying that by that guy having a gun, there was no violence.

If he didn't have a gun, it would be punching, kicking physical violence, a person could have been killed or crippled or seriously injured.

So I agree that the gun stopped any further heightening of tensions and possible violence LOL

I was at a boat ramp once in FL.  I had already pulled the boat out and I was washing off the boat next to the ramp.  There was a big line of people waiting to pull their boats out of the water.  This one boater was next in line and was dragging his boat around the dock to set it up to pull out when this jerkoff jumps in line and drops his jet ski trailer down the very ramp the boater was setting up to use.  The boater told the guy he was next  in line and his boat was already in position to pull out.  This jerkoff told him to f-off and the began to share a few words.  They were yelling at each other from a distance and the jerkoff tells the boater that he should come down and tell it to his face.  Well the boater said with pleasure and jumped off the dock and was walking over the guy, when all of a sudden this guy reaches into his glove box and pulls out his gun.  Of course the boater stopped and walked away. 

Of course this guy may think that he was a bad [arse], but all I saw was a coward.  I'm NOT  saying that if you carry a gun you are a coward, however this type a situation that guy should have taken it like a man.  I mean, how are you going to call a guy and then pull a punk [arse] move like that.  Did I mention that he reached across his 10 year old son sitting in the front seat to reach the gun.  What a great role model there.  "Hey son, if you ever get in a fight, just pull out your gat and blast'em."  With FL's new "Stand Your Ground Law" you cant get into an argument anymore without worrying about someone pulling a gun on you.  And FL law just made it easier for you to shoot first and ask questions later.

That scares me.         

I like our new law. It means that now you are not required to run by law. that you have the right to protect your property and your family. It don't scare me one dam bit But it will have the criminals worried because now my castle is extended to include my property and my car and it frees me from worry of prosecution.I have had my [arse] beat in most of the states in the southeast, sometimes by one sometimes by all.Never had to shoot anybody  and hope that i never do but there has been a few times when having a gun has stopped the all from doing their damage. I'm like Ron White there...............I didn't know how many of them it would take to whip my [arse] but i knew how many they were going to use

I am for the right to own weapons because most of the responsible people will suffer vs. the few idiots and like Russ gun control will not deter crime. I don't agree jerks should have them. And CSKIFF's experience is a perfect example where somebody shouldn't and his right should be revoked. And unfortunately most thieves and murders carry them, so the strange looking guy carrying my television set in my living room at 3:00 in the morning BEWARE.

I am surprised to see most of you guys seem pro- gun from your posts. This is good. I would like to say one thing about these AK-47`s, UZI`s, and Thompson Sub machine guns you guys are talking about. THEY ARE NOT FULLY AUTOMATIC MACHINE GUNS. At least the ones you buy from a legit gun dealer. They fire one round with each rapid pull of the trigger. They are no different than a semi automatic shotgun or rifle. They just have the appearance of the military battle guns. I`m not saying people cannot get full auto weapons, if anyone does, it is illegal and they are most likely getting them from illegal channels.
You know, there are over 100 million firearms and 70 million gun owners in this country, myself included. If each and every gun owner in the US would become an NRA member, anti gun advocates would not stand a chance to pass any of their gun control B.S. 
I think anyone who owns a firearm and not protect your 2nd Ammendment Freedoms, is a bigot!

Well I would venture to say most pro gun are consevatives and anti gin are liberals, unfortunately the numbers mentioned in the article would not make a dent in the elections in them states.

That`s true Joe. But I think if those 70 million gun owners beat down every gun bill that goes thru Congress, we would win every time.  Maybe not in the liberal states, I don`t know. It depends on how many gun owners were in that state. Most likely those gun owners did nothing about the gun bills that passed.

CD, you got to look at this demographicly. From a land perspective you would be right, but let's just say for discussion, you got 5 million gunholders in NY state, make it 10 if you want, even a majority. The state is liberal and the votes are going to go against because that's who is in office so you lose all them votes.

That`s because the politicians don`t know what the definition of an assault weapon is. They brought up the assualt weapons ban to outlaw all semi auto weapons and it almost banned regular hunting guns such as the autoloading shotguns and semi auto rifles. Russ the point I was making was unless the guy is a really bad shot and needs to spray 30 rounds to kill a deer which would turn into chop meat, is the people that need these weapons( drug dealers, robbers and murderers, terrorists) don't give a [curd] about fines or prison terms because they are in for far worse because what they are doing. And they will find them without converting a semi if they have too.
