I listened to the weatherman again like a fool on Saturday.  It was supposed to start raining on Fri eve.  I set the alarm for Saturday am to hit the woods.  It sounded like it was raining outside so being lazy and tired, I rolled back over only to wake up to a few text messages from my cell cam.  Needless to say, I should have been in the woods.  I had even contemplated sitting in the rain Saturday evening, but decided not to only to get pizzed at myself again.  A nice buck was in there Saturday and Sunday so I was in the woods by 5am on Monday.  So much wind that the tree was going from 10 - 2 all morning.  Back in the woods by 2 in the afternoon.  Just about 4pm had 3 does come in.  They were going to get a pass until they spotted me.  figured better to have meat in the freezer than a buck in the bush plus I figured the time the buck was coming in, it shouldn't hurt anything as early as it was.  Hind site 20\20, should have let them walk but we have to walk a fine line on this property.  It has the crop damage permit and I need to keep the farmer happy with the permit

True but have 5 in the freezer already so a trophy wont hurt.  ;)  He was back last night.

I put some Big&J food supplement out Saturday night after we were done hunting.  Within 5 hours, this new guy shows up and showing up consistently right now but all night shots.  Would like to see him mess up and show up during daylight hours when we are there.

Is that like a 3 foot spread! I hope you get one of them. Both are very nice deer. I stopped hunting my property for about 3 weeks and have not even been in the woods. I do need to go and check the camera out. I might hunt one of my other properties this Saturday and my main property starting the following weekend. The pre rut should be starting soon and rut should be starting in 2 weeks. I will start putting bait down starting next Thursday. Get the does to start coming in again and hope a big buck is following one. Its hard to decide what kind of weather i want. Cold for hunting and heat for the crabbing.

Had a new guy show up (10 pt.) Saturday night and he decided to mark his spot.....right where a 4 pt. has been marking.  first pic he is 20 yards from my stand, sec, 25 yards.

I pulled my sd card and only 261 pics in 2 weeks. I would get that many pics in a day before the season started. But i have also not had any corn down. Also it seems like my camera is acting up. I did not have any pics for the last week and some are just black. So i will get some corn down this week and hunt Sat and maybe Monday if I get off work early. You better get out there crabbyd. The deer are waiting for you. I have not had any shooter come in a while. Good luck everyone and be safe.

I'm out there almost every chance I get.   ;D  I had the 4pt come in yesterday evening and mark where the 10pt marked.  This should get interesting soon.

That's a nice buck.  Looks like pushing 200 pounds.  One of my buddies killed 2 does and another killed a 6 point last weekend.  I didn't go because of my arm.  Buttt doctor cleared me for PT so I might be in the woods by the second week of November.

BTW if I don't shot any deer in Louisiana I'm taking you up on your offer. ;D

I will be in the woods tomorrow. I have not hunted the property in 4 weeks. I have not been in the woods there but 2 times. I put bait down wed and tonight. The only 2 times I have been in the woods in a month. I'm hoping all the pressure around me will have the deer coming to my property where I have not been for a month. I'm looking to shoot a buck but might take a doe down if there are no bucks behind her. I have not decided if I'm going to stay out all day or take a break and come out for lunch. Next weekend I will be out in the woods all day. And out as much as possible until thanksgiving. I hope to get a buck this year. Hit one last year but the arrow did not work and only went in the deer an inch. I hope to make up for that this year.
