Up from Florida for a week in Baltimore and I wound up on York road and spotted Ocean Pride seafood restaurant.  It was lunchtime so I gave them a try. Since I was alone I just ordered three. They had mediums and large that just came in. I waited while they sorted them, than got the eighty bucks a dozen which was the largest.  So three came to twenty bucks.
Two out of the three were papershells, the last one was heavy. Pointed this out to waiter while tearing the top shell of a papershell into tiny pieces, and his only reply was to say OK.
I usually ask for the manager at this point but was anxious to leave, as blood was starting to boil and didn't wqnt the monster inside to come out while on vacation.
Apparently, the crab sorter is not in charge of the pricing dept. at Ocean Pride.
And the ownership will buy trash and sell it as quality if the price is right.
Lesson learned.

After the disaster at Ocean Pride, a friend took me to Brewers out in Essex. We had a couple dozen crabs priced at fortyfive a dozen, they also had twentyfives. They were heavy and good.  If you don't want crabs, they have the best Hot Beef and Gravy platter I have ever had. With all the gravy covering the fries, that was a challenge to finish.
Also had the crab cake at Pappas on Taylor ave, near Perring Parkway. Very good. Try the white Sangria there, its the bomb.
Went to Pat Ricks just down the street from Bills terrace Inn.  Had a phenomenal shrimp salad sandwich on a Kaiser roll.
The mussels were good at Vinnies on Holobird ave.  Also recommend the raw oysters there that were plump and fresh.
Had corned beef from Attmans on Lombard st.  Not as good as I remember it, maybe I wont get the extra lean next time.
And finally, I recommend the Arbys original greek gyro at the Airport.  ;D
All in all a good trip to Baltimore.

Nothing like being satisfied for the food you pay for. Judging by your last post, you more success with meals since the Ocean Pride crabs. Happens like that sometimes. Baltimore does have some good food places. If you like babyback ribs, maybe try Corner Stable.

Attmans wasn't that good the last time my wife and I ate there.

If you have time before your flight, check out Obrycki's at the airport. It used to be in Baltimore City. They relocated to the airport years ago. It was the "go to place " when in the city. They served steam crabs and other meals. Not sure what they serve at the airport now.
