Florida ring trap dimensions

Lately I have seen  these over oversize ring traps. The usual size you see are 17 to 18 inches like you get at Wallmart or Bass Pro. These I am seeing lately are 30 to 36 inches and are available at Academy Sports. I thought they may be too big and I couldn't find anything on the FWC website for crab regulations. I gave them a call and finally made contact with LT Steve VanNortwick who stated the ring traps are called a "Crab Drop Net Trap" and there is no regulation on size.  Good to know and just being careful!

I made contact with Florida Fish and learned they are called Crab drop net and there is no restriction on them.
