Anyone keep scientific data on crabs?

I was curious...dangerous for me! I have kept records on every crab I have caught or eaten since 2006.
Anal?.....Yes but I was thinking its too bad I didn't keep records on the water temperature., dissolved oxygen, water salinity,
barometric pressure, weather etc.  Maybe you could show some associations with that kind of data?
I guess I will start now. Thermometer and salinity hydrometer are cheap but the dissolved oxygen meters are expensive!

I kept very detailed records when I first got my own boat and started crabbing the same area(s) regularly.
I would note the date, time of day (on & off the water), tide conditions, pressure and pressure trend, wind (direction and strength), water temp, phase of moon, depth of line, and number of crabs per run and total for the day.  But, even with 25-30 trips, it was nothing more than white noise - no real correlation or trends other than the catch falling off with temperature at the end of the year.  Also, with only a recreational license my single 1200' trot line didn't yield enough data from the multiple areas in which I would/could set for worthwhile comparative analysis.

That level of detail I kept for a few years... now I just keep track of where I set my line, what time on & off the water and date, and how many crabs I catch.  If there are any specific notes (e.g. crabs were huge at location A but smalls at B, tons of females, etc.) or extreme weather phenomenon such as the rainfall we had two weeks ago I will jot that down as well.
