Ocean Isle Beach

I'm traveling to Ocean Isle Beach next week, and wanted to see if anyone knew of a good place to crab within say on hours drive?  Last year I took my kids to Vereen Memorial Garden's park and tried our luck with a few collapsable traps but only caught a couple.  No one else on the docks there seemed to be having much luck either (though a very nice location).  So just thought I'd see if anyone knew of better places to try?  Or if no areas are accessible by car... how about charter trips you can rent for crabbing.... or even great places you can rent a small boat and go try.  Any info would be great!  Thanks so much
