Going to rent a vacation home on Heron Creek, Chincoteague Island, VA. in August or Sept. 2019. Anyone know if Heron Creek is a good place to crab? We have been vacationing on Chincoteague and also Crisfield, MD. since 1985 but have never stayed on Heron Creek. Do not know who to ask. We crab the 7 days of vacation so do not want to rent a place where crabbing is usually not good. We just use handlines and traps from the dock or shoreline. Reply soon, please. Ron

I have never heard of "Heron Creek".  Tried to Google it and all I found was a rental property by that name.   ???

Could be Herring Creek, across from James Island NWR.

I don't think this one will make the Rick-ipedia list.  ;D

No, improperly spelled creek names is a forgivable offense. LOL.

The problem with trying to find a creek on the map of Chincoteague is there are so many little creeks all through and around that place.  Either way, I think you could have luck anywhere down there.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, a crab in one hand, a beer in the other, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW--What a Ride!"

This. Jimmies will get up in any creek that's not obstructed.
