Crabbing emerald isle and bouge sound

I'm traveling to emerald isle in August for a vacation. I have rented a house on a canal that opens into the sound with a dock. Previously I have spent time in sandbridge Virginia renting on a canal and I have traps.  How good is the crabbing sound side? Kids are really into it and we are lo forward to the trip.
