SHELLFISH

I arrived at Goodriches and was alone. 5 traps in the water baited with chicken necks. After one hour and no crabs seen I headed south to the Canveral Nat'l Seashore and tried two spots down there. Again no crabs were caught! I then headed north to New Smyrna Doris Leeper Park and tried for an hour again with five traps and chicken necks. Finally... I caught one 4 inch brown or Purple Crab that look like Blue Crabs. I have tasted these before and found the flesh mealy; I don't know whay? The crab was released.
So it wasn't a skunk for the day but is sure wasn't any better. We have a front coming in for tomorrow and Saturday and I usually do well crabbing with the barometer falling. I don't know what went wrong today!  Everybody gets the skunk once in a while!

Nights are mostly around 75! It's just started cooling off a bit. Very nice now!
It was a bruttally hot summer! Too hot to do much of anything!

Love me some NSB. Visit frequently.  Sister lives Bouchelle Island.  Mom & Pop lived beachside 30 years before passing.

Good luck next time out.
