[dang] that's a good price.  You should see what they charge for them down here.  It's criminal!

Around me you aren't getting below ~25 per dozen for any male crabs.

Crab Shack, I know what you're saying.  We moved to Tampa about 10 years ago.  Thought crabs would be plentiful.  I was wrong.  When you can find them they're usually small and sometimes light.  When you CAN find larger ones the price is just ridiculous for what you get.

I'm told by one seafood place that has loose ties to Jimmy Cantlers Inn in Annapolis that buyers come here from up north and only want to buy the large ones.  Oh well.

One other item.  We went to New Orleans about two years ago and couldn't find blue crabs in any restaurant we tried.  And some of them were recommended by former residents.  We used to get them in Md in the middle of winter from NO that were huge.

Well at least shrimp are plentiful and relatively cheap here.

WOW those prices are beyond good for sure , I bought ten crabs at MASTERBAITERS they cost me $ 40.00 but I was not complaining though because if I want seafood the price is not a factor, and they were bricks and true MUMBOS . I sure wished that I lived closer to this guy, he'd be getting my business for sure.

Good luck.  Last years retail prices are very close to today's wholesale prices.  My wife was talking to one of her basket customers and was told they are getting close to $200 a bu for true #1's wholesale.
