SHELLFISH

I stopped under the RT44 bridge at the fishing docks to find a single crabber. I do not know how long she had been there. It was now about 1pm so probably at least a few hours. She had six crabs in her bucket; all were of average size at 5 to 5.5 inches or thereabouts. Better catch than I have seen in a while! Great to see!

Last few times I've been out - ZERO.

I think I would have better luck catching chickens on a crab leg!!!!

It's true. I am experiencing the same pain up here in Jacksonville. Average of 3 dozen last year down to around 9-10 crabs this year.

When I lived in New Smyrna 9 years ago both bridges were always super productive on the incoming tide. Sad to see it is so different now.
