These storms are killing me.  High winds and high tides are keeping the flood control locks closed.  But if there is a will there is a way.

Had to drive to a boat launch I haven't used in over 20 years.  Set out going to the area where I've been catching my crabs.  20 minute further ride but still manageable.
Dropped 2 - 600' lines baited with CN at daylight.  Water was clear (not good) skies were also clear (not good) winds were blowing 10-15 out of the north but I was on the leeward shoreline so it didn't matter to much.  First run 8,  second run 9,  third run 8.  I knew it was going to be a tough day.  As time pasted the winds switch around to the NE and white caps were bouncing the boat around.  By 0800 as always the crabs stopped biting and I headed to safer waters.  Only had about 4 dozen by this time and I still had plenty of bait on my lines so I decided to make a test drop in front of another bayou that I ran through earlier that morning.  First run I had 8 nice keeper crabs.  So I dropped the second line about 200 yards to the East.  Next thing I know I was catching 12 nice crabs each run.  At 1100 the sun was high enough that the crabs were letting go as soon as they saw the boat.  Anyway I had to throw some crabs back because I couldn't close the lid, picked up the lines and headed home.

2 600' lines bated with chicken necks
skies were clear
winds started out of the North but switch to the NE blowing 15-25
First spot water was clear, second spot water was stained but semi clear
6 - 8 feet of water
water temp mid 80's
falling tide in the beginning going to slack tide by 1100
11 dozen crabs.

Picture was taken after I had already given 2 1/2 dozen crabs to my neighbors.

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, a crab in one hand, a beer in the other, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW--What a Ride!"

Those look like some boiled crabs... Did you use crab boil or some east coast stuff (J.O. Old Bay, etc)?
