Hey guys!

My wife and I just moved down to Wilmington from the Virginia mountains about 5 days ago now and we are already on the hunt for some blue crabs. Every summer growing up we went to the beach and caught crabs with the old chicken on a string method. We don't have a boat so we'll likely be doing the same thing now a days (we may buy the crab license that allows us to use 3 pots).

But yes was hoping to get some advice on any good places to go for land based crabbers. I drove down to the very southern tip of fort fisher in the basin area - we walked around a bit but I didn't see any good channels or drop offs to throw chicken into. We also quickly checked out snow's cut - that looked more promising as it definitely dropped of pretty quickly from shore.

Would you guys recommend checking out any other places? I'm really hoping to find a nice public access spot along a creek - I couldn't find any on Google earth but will continue to look around.

Thanks again guys and really happy to be down here!

Luke
