Quote from: Logical1 on Yesterday at 10:54:15 AMI see many members from long distances away (especially at the Get Together) and surprises me when I see how close some of the BCA members are to where I live. I am just outside of Preston Maryland.

One of them actually lives IN your house too.
Huh!!

Quote from: Big Liar on January 09, 2025, 10:33:07 AMI live in Cambridge and I can't recall anyone renting boats that setup for crabbing.  You may want to also contact Ferry Point Marina and Composite Yacht.  Both are right a the foot of the bridge on the talbot side.  You could also check the Hyatt in Cambridge.  I know that Blackwater Adventures runs the rental kayaks there.  The Hyatt also rents jet skis, so it worth a try to call them.  Are you looking to run a trot line, or just snatch pots?

Sorry for the delay in responding.  I've been netting for perch the last few days.  There are some bridges below Cambridge in the lower portion of Dorchester county.  One going on to Taylors Island.  Smithville Road Bridge.  There is one close to that going towards Hooper's Island.  Also Bestpitch Ferry bridge, and Suicide Bridge.  Definitely call the Hyatt to see if they have any rental boats.  Good crabbing right outside the marina there.

Quote from: Logical1 on January 13, 2025, 11:40:05 AMI thought he was looking for something to funnel the crabs into the basket. Maybe he was just looking for a lid. We will have to see which he was after.  Glad you posted this anyway because I need to get one for my plastic basket (orange fish basket).
Quote from: Harford Crabber on January 13, 2025, 06:14:19 PMWouldn't it be better to use crabs rather than metal rings?    (Yes-I'm an OLD Dad)

Who the  h ell knows what he wants. We have now offered him three completely different items, if none of these are it, then I don't care.

Quote from: Logical1 on January 13, 2025, 06:53:19 PMThat's pretty neat, I have never seen them before.  I wonder how that metal holds up under regular use in salt water environments. Could be why some use the plastic barrel tops.

I use the plastic trash can lids with 1" holes drilled in them.
