Went out to use the topless traps on Saturday in the Yeocomico.   The water in the creek felt almost like bath water it was so warm.  Not sure on the depth I was crabbing but I am sure it was between 5ft-10ft most of the time.  Managed to only catch 5 males over 5.25" but nothing over 5.5".  Wasn't out for long since every run with 20 traps only yielded one crab.  Did get a lot of small crabs and change location once.  Like for someone to answer this curiosity question,  there was a point in the creek where the commercial pots stopped even though there was plenty room for them to set more going back into the creek.  Is there a reason for that?  There a line they couldn't cross or just know from years there was no crabs.   It was nice to find an area with no pots but the crabs were not there in large numbers.
