Only went after a half bushel this trip. Pulled up to the ramp by 12:30. Trailers lined up the road. So much for no crowds on a Monday. I guess everyone is coming out after those little crabs under 6".Did get a spot in the lot though. Got to my spot and no one was there. Out went the 20 Perfectionist Rings with necks in the ole 6' range. Crabbing wasn't as good as it was before the holiday weekend. It happens every year. We did get our half bushel of 6" and up that we went after. Threw back about the same amount of keepers. 10 trips and we finally caught our first 2 mature females.

Nice catch. First 2 mature females in 10 trips? I was out yesterday. Mid bay eastern shore. I caught easily a half bushel of large mature females. Had a trip in July I caught close to a bushel of mature females. For a family that like female crabs. Makes it tough to toss back.

Sorry I missed talking to you at the ramp as you were putting in as I was pulling out. I did well enough for me. The count was 35 nice crabs and the weather was perfect couldn't ask for better day

I crab the same area/river as you.  Was there yesterday, they're still liking the deeper water (deeper than 6' anyway).  1200' trotline w/CN, full basket headed to the ramp at 10:30.  Heavy crabs too, you can feel their weight in the net.  Probably a half dozen females came up on the line.

It figures. The one Monday I can't make it and three of my amigos are there (Jim, Southpaw Tommy, and Mike). Wish I could have made it. Glad you guys did well.

Funny how they're different in different rivers. I was in a river on the west side. (The place I like to go was landmined with 60 traps-2 boats when I got there at 7am. I'm usually all alone there)
I moved a 600' piece of trotline 3 times before I found em.   Got about 1/2 dozen in water over 6'.  The rest of the 3/4 full basket was in 3-5'.
