Blue Crabs in Lake Monroe????
«
on:

Was surfing the web, reading up on the ST Johns river in Fl. Came across info that all sorts of saltwater species occasionally make it into Lake Monroe.
Just curious if anyone out there has experienced it.
Thanks - G

The Blue Crabs make it south along the St John but the cutoff is around Route 44 with lesser numbers south of there or so I have heard. Lake Monroe is south of there so you could probably occassionally find a Blue Crab in Lake Monroe but I wouldn't expect large numbers! Give it a try and report back!

Bought crabs while camping south of Lake George years ago......the biggest and the most beautiful crabs you would ever see...But no taste at all...they came out of 100% fresh water...

Just curious if it would be worth the effort to try and catch some blue crabs for bait.
