Crabbing Murrell's Inlet Area

I will be in the Murrell's Inlet area for a few days in mid- late March.

Are there any decent land crabbing locations?  Is it too early in the year?  If not from land - any recommended boat rentals?

From land you will have a hard time even with piers, its shallow.  I have used a small skiff and it was ok, nothing great as far a  size goes.  By land we always went to the below.  keep in mind bring long lines and alot of weight for your traps as the current is moving fast. The pier is high up off the water, fishing is decent here as well...
