Crabbed Blackbird Creek just as it empties into the Delaware Bay. Set up 1200" trotline with chicken necks at ebb tide, 82 degree water temp at a depth of 8 feet. First three runs yielded one crab. I thought it would be a slow day to crab. When the tide changed after several runs the crab bite turned on. Crabbed for 3 hours and ended with a bushel of very nice crab. Just about all of the crab were males with one keeper female. They were delicious. I love crabbing. On a side note I was checked by the game warden as I got back to Augustine launch ramp. He was very nice and checked all my crabs. No problem there.

Just curious why you launched at Augustine to go to Blackbird Creek area instead of launching at Staves landing which is closer?

At low tide Staves landing launch is difficult when by yourself.

Great shakes! DE River is turning on.  I never used the Staves Landing "ramp", if that's what you call it. What's the problem there at low tide, is there a ledge that the tires will drop over??
