Lines in: 07:45
Lines out: 11:00
Tide: Incoming
Depth: 4-6 feet
300' baited with necks

Made a solo trip, after eating steamed crabs and fresh crab cakes all summer it's was to put some crab cakes up for the winter so this was a meat run. Tried something a little different today instead of taking bait and refreshing the line on the boat I took a second line and swapped lines out ounce the bait was eaten off.  A log easier to bait up in the driveway than on the boat. Ended up with half a basket of mostly females out of 40 crabs had 6 males and they had just shed.

Needing a backup line is a good problem to have. I've done the same, but rarely have a need to replace more than a dozen or so baits. I need to crab more often... Thinking about switching back to a straight line for the ease of de-baiting. I do like the snoods, but sometimes I just want to simplify my life. lol
