Depends on how you're crabbing. If you head N from the ramp, the water gets real skinny, approx 2 ft deep once it opens up from a creek into the flats. I've hit bottom there many times. After you get past that spot look for the three islands that run E-W and crab on the N side of the islands. There's a gut that runs parallel to the islands that ranges from 5 - 9 ft deep and holds crabs, and you can run traps or trotlines there. If the DE River is calm, you can run trotlines out there, but watch out for the sandbar at the mouth of Duck Creek south side.

If you head W out of the ramp along the road, try going under the bridge S and crab the intersects of the streams, or turn S (right) when you get to the bridge, take the left main branch that snakes W then turns N and crab the creek there. There's plenty of water back there also until it opens up into the flats past the island on right. A lot of people will crab in that shallower water with trot lines or ring nets.

Thanks for the "skinny" on the depths at Woodland.  I have thought about exploring there but I don't know the waters at all.  I had only heard it was very shallow as you head towards the bay.
I may take a ride some time going left from the ramp.
