Trapper J

Ran 15 traps for about 3 hours on an incoming tide, water temp was 76. Man its hard to find a spot not loaded with com pots down there. Anyway set from 3' to 15'. Everything came from the 5' to 8' range. Caught 3 in one trap. Lot of just undersized but ended with a couple of doz. Beautiful day and fun to be on the water.

Everybody uses pots cause they can.  Rec crabber's here use pots too.  I don't know anyone that uses anything else. Think I've seen one trotliner in my whole life.  8)

I put a post up in August using a trot line. I have gone 3 times since and done well using 2 three hundred foot lines. The crabs don't know it's a trot line lol.

I understand.  The OP mentioned Saxis. That's what I responded to.  Folks on the west shore crab a lot different then here in Saxis.  Crabman Russ, who was a Mod for decades, did it all out of VB.  Folks in our area can (know who to buy from) buy a bushel of crab for 40 bucks.  If they don't what the thrill of crabbing they just buy a bushel. Might cost them 80 for #1s.  ;)
