Best place to rent house with the goal of crabbing

My son and I want to head down from NY this summer to do some crabbing in the Chesapeake.  We crab up here on Long Island a few times each summer, but results are usually never good.

Any recommendations for towns/areas where I could check out some house rentals that have private docks (and preferably a history of crabs in the area).
