CT State Record

I just found the state of CT Blue Crab record.

2005    Clinton, CT.       8 7/8"      1.10 pounds
2006    Clinton, CT.       7 7/8"      1.22 pounds

The 2005 record is printed in the 2006 CT Anglers Guide
The fella got a pin for the 2006 record, we'll see if it stands for the 2007 CT Anglers guide printing.
It seems as though the State of CT puts more merit on the weight than the length. I was talking with the tackle shop where the 2006 crab was weighed in. He said the crab had huge claws and was  a really robust crab! He has picture of it in his shop and will look at it when I am up that way (New Haven, CT).
I personally saw a 9.25 inch crab from CT but the guy didin't enter it. The crab was a male whitey that had just molted and had not much weight to it.
