I Love Crabs!

Ignore
« on: March 13, 2007, 03:03:44 AM »

hello everyone, Last year I bought a boat in late spring and started crabbing late june early july.  This year I am planning ofcourse to go much earlier.  I know from reading the crabs go to the shallows during the day when its warmer etc.... I have crabbed the PAX, Severn, BAY, and definitely the Wye.  I crab with traps and know the surface temps should be 60 or above.  Any tips on places, depths etc... to crab late April/early May.  I'm hoping to go early if temps stay in the 60-70's, but as any native Marylander, I'm sure there will be one more good cold spell before the warm temps come, as well as the rains to cool the water and dampen hopes of getting out too early.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  CAn't wait to get out there and catch some crab!!!!
