Hi! New to this site. Am 65 years old and sold my small boat last year. Usually crabbed "The Poles" area of Barnegat bay at mouth of Tom's River. Want to continue crabbing (and EAT!) but need to find good places to crab from shore or bridge. Don't want to get grief from someone because I am crabbing in a place I am not supposed to be. (Private property etc...) Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I am close to Trenton. About an hour and a half from AC. I am closer to Barnegat bay. I have been thinking of traveling with wife and dog to crab and staying an overnight if I can find lodging that will accept the dog.

There's a campground on 9 about 20 miles nort of AC that has crabbing out back and you can bring dogs in. I believe it's called Sea Pirate. They have places you can crab from the grass or you can rent their boats. Haven't been there in a few yrs but we used to do well on the boats, made for a nice weekend.

Anytime. If you rent a boat, ask for a map. The guy who works there drew one up and marked the "hot spots."
